By Chapter Reporter Kaela Cooper Templeton FFA is located on the central coast of California and is a part of Templeton High School. The program consists of 267 members led by 2 advisors; Chris Hildebrand and Erin Thompson. The program offers career technical education pathways in the areas of welding technology, computer assisted drafting, animal science, applied horticulture, and floral design in addition to agriculture leadership development. Community support for the department and its program is very strong and backed by the Templeton FFA Parent Support Club. The Support Club's main event for the year is the Annual Project Auction. The dinner/auction raises money for the program as well as offers students who excel in agriculture mechanics to fabricate and sell their own supervised agriculture experience projects in a live auction format. The chapter works diligently to provide well rounded opportunities to all of its members encouraging involvement beyond the chapter level and with in the community. There are four major community service projects per year, including Agriculture Information Day where over 400 elementary school students in the district visit the school farm for mini-lessons on agriculture taught by Templeton FFA members.
