Grains futures mostly rise, beef prices fall

CHICAGO (AP) -- Grain prices mostly rose Monday in early trading on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery rose 9 cents to $8.7250 a bushel; March corn rose 6.25 cents to $7.59 a bushel; March oats were flat at $3.7875 a bushel; while January soybeans jumped 17.25 cents to $14.56 a bushel.

Beef futures fell, while pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle fell 0.25 cent to $1.3015 a pound; January feeder cattle fell 0.42 cent to $1.4520 a pound; while February lean hogs rose 0.08 cent to 87 cents a pound.
