The Emmett FFA Soils & Land judging team placed 1st at the Western Idaho District Career Development event on September 27th, and placed 9th at state on October 9th. 
The team was Kalena Jensen, Abby Buckley, Samantha Gunderson, Suzy Davis - 1st High Individual at District, and Kaitlyn Jewkes - 3rd High Individual at District. 
The competition includes judging a landsite for its potential as a home foundation. Team members also judge the soil quality based on a number of factors.
The Emmett chapter's judging team did very well at both the District and the State competition. They look forward to continuing on this year with more Career Development Events.
