Grains futures rise, livestock prices mixed

CHICAGO (AP) -- Corn futures soared in early trading Tuesday and other grain prices were mostly higher on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery added 1.75 cent to $7.4275 a bushel; December corn jumped 24 cents to $6.18 a bushel; December oats were unchanged at $3.17 a bushel; while November soybeans gained 4 cents to $14.295 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle edged up 0.08 cent to $1.1595 a pound; August feeder cattle fell 2.48 cents to $1.4732 a pound; while August lean hogs shed 0.25 cent to 88.90 cents a pound.
