Compared to last week: Domestic Alfalfa traded steady in all regions this week. Retail/Stable hay traded steady to 5 lower, full decline seen on old crop hay in Region 6. Export hay traded mostly steady. Demand good for all classes with moderate to active trade activity.

Rain in the majority of areas this week has delayed cutting again in Regions 1 and 2. An increased supply of rain damage or high moisture hay entered the marketplace this week with many producers wanting to move current hay. Several fields of hay currently down with varying degrees of moisture observed. Higher testing hay continues to trade at similar values as the previous week.

Region 6 producers are in between cuttings and movement has slowed slightly, some producers considering storing hay. Inquiries continue to be prevalent on future Sudan and Bermuda hay. Resistance still being noted by dairies in all areas as milk prices remain below break-even costs and a decrease in spending power still exists.
