Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during May by unit trains and barges, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars per cwt. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. All other wheat bids are for full May delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.
July wheat futures trended mixed, from one cent lower to 4-1/2 cents per bushel higher in early trading compared to Wednesday's July closes.
Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat for May delivery in unit trains or barges were not well tested in early trading, but trended 14 to 20 cents per bushel lower compared to Wednesday's noon bids for May delivery.
Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for May delivery were not well tested in early trading, but bids were indicated as four cents per bushel higher compared to Wednesday's noon bids, with support coming from the higher Kansas City July wheat.
Bids for 14 percent protein non-guaranteed US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for May delivery were not well tested, but bids were indicated as one cent per bushel lower than Wednesday's noon bids. Bids were pressured by the lower Minneapolis July wheat futures. Protein scales were down 15 cents per 1/4 percent protein down to 13 percent protein and up five cents per 1/4 percent protein up to 16 percent protein.
Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars trended 1-1/4 to 2-1/2 cents per cwt lower compared to Wednesday's noon bids. Corn bids truck delivered to the Yakima Valley trended 2-1/2 cents per cwt lower compared to Wednesday's noon bids. Lower Chicago July corn futures pressured bids.
