Young mountain lions captured in Pocatello

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- Officials with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game say two young mountain lions that apparently lost their mother and started preying on domestic pets have been captured in Pocatello in eastern Idaho.

Officials tell KIFI-TV (http://bit.ly/HFPlPF) the cats were skinny and dehydrated, with the female weighing 15 pounds and the male 20 pounds.

Fish and Game officials captured them Tuesday using tranquilizer darts and took them to a holding facility for possible future placement at a zoo.

Fish and Game spokesman Toby Boudreau says the mountain lions are too young to provide for themselves.
