'So God Made a Farmer' Super Bowl ad a super success

The RAM Truck Super Bowl ad featuring legendary radio broadcaster Paul Harvey's "So God Made a Farmer" tribute is a huge success.

With more than 10 million views on websites in less than a week after the ad first aired, RAM Truck's goal was reached, resulting in a $1 million donation to the National FFA Organization's hunger relief efforts, according to RAM Truck.

Nearly 18 million views had been logged by Feb. 14.

"We were very pleased. We didn't expect it to be this fast," said Eileen Wunderlich, a spokeswoman for RAM Truck, a division of Chrysler.

The company had allowed itself almost a year to reach the goal.

For every 1 million views, RAM Truck pledged to donate $100,000 to the FFA through Dec. 31 or until $1 million was reached, whichever came sooner.

The ad proved extremely popular, Wunderlich said.

Next in its "Year of the Farmer" initiative, RAM Truck will issue a book of farm images from across the country with proceeds going to agricultural and hunger-related efforts, she said.

Title: What a boost to the image of a farmer.

Here in Ritzville, WA all of our wheat and cattle farmers loved the commercial. I commend Dodge for showing the pick up for just a few seconds.
