Compared to last week at the same market, Stocker and feeder cattle $1-9 higher. This is the first major test of stocker and feeder cattle of the New Year. Trade active with very good demand. Slaughter cows $6-8 lower, due to excess supplies hitting the market. Slaughter bulls firm in a light test. Trade active with light to moderate demand. Slaughter cows were approximately 43 percent of the supply; Slaughter bulls were 5 percent, and feeders were 52 percent of the supply. The feeder supply included 53 percent steers and 47 percent heifers. Nearly 73 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs. Replacement cows pretested for pregnancy, age and bangs.
