CASH SOFT WHITE WHEAT
Pacific Northwest: Bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat, delivered by unit trains and barges to Portland during November ended the reporting week on Thursday, Nov. 15, as not available as most exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Week ago bids were $8.95-9.1250, mostly $9.0375 for November delivery. There were no white club wheat premiums for nearby delivery for this week or last week. One year ago bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat and white club wheat for November delivery were $6.05-6.08, mostly $6.07. Nearby bids for U.S. 1 Soft White wheat began the reporting week on Nov. 9 at mostly $8.8825, and moved lower to mostly $8.6375 on Nov. 14. Soft white wheat bids were not available on Nov. 12, Nov. 13, or Nov. 15 as most exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Lower Chicago December wheat futures pressured soft white wheat bids during the week. Several exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. New confirmed export sales of white wheat this week were to Japan and Taiwan. Forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: December $8.65-8.6550, January $8.75-8.95, February and March $8.80-8.95. One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: December $6.04-6.08, January $6.07-6.15, February $6.10-6.17 and March $6.10-6.19.
Outstanding U.S. white wheat export sales as of Nov. 8, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2012, and ending May 31, 2013, totaled 836.3 thousand MT compared to 759.1 thousand MT on Nov. 1, and 876.8 thousand MT one year ago. Outstanding white wheat export sales for the 2012-13 marketing year were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Philippines 201.5, South Korea 184.4, Japan 120.9, Thailand 49.3, Nigeria 26.4, Guatemala 23.5, Taiwan 11.7, Mexico 2.2, Vietnam 2.0, Hong Kong 1.4, Malaysia 0.5, Canada 0.4, and total unknown 212.1. Accumulated white wheat export shipments as of Nov. 8, 2012, in 1000 MT for the 2012-13 marketing year, totaled 2062.8 compared to 2227.4 one year ago.
Outstanding U.S. barley export sales as of Nov. 8, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2012, and ending May 31, 2013, in 1000 MT, totaled 2.1 compared to 2.1 on Nov. 1, and 0.6 one year ago. Outstanding barley export sales for the 2012-13 marketing year in 1000 MT were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 1.5 and Taiwan 0.6. Accumulated barley export shipments as of Nov. 8, 2012 were 118.8 thousand MT compared to 81.6 one year ago.
COARSE FEEDING GRAINS
Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars were $298.75-299.25, $7.25 to $7.50 per ton lower than Nov. 8 bids of $306.25-306.50. Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered to the inland feeding areas of Yakima, Wash., and Hermiston, Ore., were $288.75-294.25, $7 to $8 lower than Nov. 8 bids of $295.75-302.25. Lower Chicago December corn futures for the week weighed on cash corn bids. Bids for U.S. 2 Heavy White Oats for November delivery held steady with Nov. 8 noon bids at 265.
