A sure sign that spring is just around the corner. 500 rooted geranium cuttings were the first plants in the Chelan High School greenhouse for the 2013 growing season. Over the next 12 weeks, they will be joined by over 11,000 other plants to be sold at the Annual Chelan Ag Ed Department Spring Plant sale on April 27th. CHS Ag Ed students enrolled in the Natural Resource Science class grow a greenhouse crop as part of the curriculum. So far they have planted Canna Lilly Bulbs which just popped out of the ground, Jalapeno Peppers are just beginning to germinate, and 1600 petunias, marigold, impatiens, lobelia, and begonia starts were planted today.  A wide variety of over 40 different bedding plants, 20 types of vegetable starts and color baskets will be available at the sale. So mark your calendars for the Chelan Ag Ed Department Spring Plant Sale. The quality is excellent but quantities are limited.Â
