Snake River District Shop Skills Competition

On Monday April 8th, TVCC held the Shop Skills Competition for the Snake River District. The teams that participated in this event were Ontario, Jordan Valley, Vale, Nyssa, and Adrian. This event challenged these membersâ hands at welding and mechanics, developing new skills and knowledge along the way.

The Beginning Ontario Team place third this year, where they competed in Carpentry, Arc welding, MIG welding, Tool ID., and Tool Reconditioning. The team consisted of Caleb Peterson, Jordan Schuster, Trevor Engle, Garrett Hibbetts, and Chance Salutrgui. The Advanced Ontario Team placed first, competing in MIG, Arc Welding, Plasma Cutting, Blueprint Reading, and Basic Electricity. This team consisted of Will Price, Victor Morales, Derek Morales, Jared Engle, and Mitch Ueltzen. Will Price and Victor Morales were the top two competitors. And congratulations to Victor Morales for receiving the two year scholarship to TVCC.

The Ontario FFA is very proud of both teamsâ accomplishments in this competition.
