Amalgamated Sugar had $434.4 million in sugar beet production revenue in Idaho in 2022, up 7.2% from the previous year, according a recent review by the Boise-based cooperative.

An Oct. 27 story in the Capital Press listed the state’s 2022 value of sugar beet production at $403.8 million, according to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Ben Johnson, NASS Idaho statistician, said its total was based on USDA Economic Research Service preliminary data. NASS plans to publish a final estimate in February.
