Comments: Monday’s feeder special featured a strong run of cows and an excellent offering of light feeder calves and yearlings. Slaughter cows were steady across the board, with a top price of $138.00, and an average price of $105.00-$108.00. Slaughter bulls were lower on a light offering, with a top price of $123.00 and an average of $118.00. Feeder cattle were significantly higher, with excellent demand for light calves. 300-400 weight steers topped out at $380.00, with an average of $318.00. Same weight heifers sold for $312.50 at the top, and averaged $268.50. 400-500 weight steers hit a high of $344.00, and averaged $307.50, while heifers in the same weight also hit $344.00, and averaged $308.00. 500-600 weight steers brought $295.00 with an average of $283.00, with heifers topping out at $277.00 and averaging $264.30. 700-800 weight steers brought $243.00 at the high, and averaged $235.68. 800-900 weight steers sold for $224.00 and averaged $221.00. We will be off for the Christmas and New Years holidays, and our next sale will be Jan. 6.
