Reward offered for info on illegal wolf killing in Oregon

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has offered a $10,000 reward for information regarding the illegal killing of a gray wolf in Morrow County, Ore.

On Nov. 8, a radio-collared male wolf, known as OR 159, was found dead on private land about 20 miles south of Heppner.

Morrow County is west of Highway 395 where gray wolves are listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act.

The agency is looking for information that leads to an arrest, a criminal conviction or civil penalty assessment.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is investigating the incident with the assistance of the Oregon State Police.
