The U.S. Bureau of Land Management named Birk Roseman as its Twin Falls district manager.

Roseman  succeeds longtime district manager Mike Courtney, who retired. The district manages over 3.9 million public land acres in south-central Idaho.

“I am so pleased to welcome Birk to the Twin Falls district office,” BLM Idaho acting state director June Shoemaker said in a news release. “He is an extremely quick study and returns to Idaho with a broad scope of experience in complex public land management issues.”

Roseman most recently served as district ranger for the Apalachicola National Forest in Crawfordville, Fla.

He started his career with the USDA Forest Service as a range management specialist, which enabled him to work from the Ruby Mountains in Nevada to the coast of California, and to the Lost River Ranger District on the Salmon-Challis National Forest in Idaho. He transitioned to line officer in a position with the Ashley National Forest in Vernal, Utah, before moving to Florida.

“It seems fitting that I am returning to Idaho, the place where my interest in a federal career was launched and a state for which I hold a deep appreciation,” Roseman said in the release. “I am a strong supporter of BLM’s multiple use mission, and I look forward to getting to know and working with the many important partners and permittees within the Twin Falls district.”

He earned a Bachelor of Science in rangeland ecology and management from the University of Idaho.

Roseman enjoys spending time with his family and is looking forward to hiking and exploring new areas of public land managed by the BLM Twin Falls district, according to the release.
