SEATTLE (AP) — A team of Washington utility workers is helping to restore power to families affected by the recent wildfire in Northern California.

KIRO-TV reports about 20 Snohomish County Power Utility Districts, or PUD, workers are traveling south to assist Pacific Gas and Electric Company workers in California to help rebuild the electrical infrastructure lost in the fire, which is now 100 percent contained.

Officials say the blaze, which broke out Nov. 8, north of Sacramento, has killed more than 85 people and destroyed tens of thousands of homes and businesses.

Snohomish County PUD crews are committed to be in California for two months. Pacific Gas and Electric will reimburse the entire cost of the operation.

The Snohomish County PUD says the crews will be called back if Washington gets hit with a major storm and help is needed back home.
