With the increasing demand for equipment technicians and the opportunity to continue their support of learning institutions focused on the development of students interested in working on farm equipment, Agri-Service recently donated a Massey Ferguson 7626 tractor to the College of Western Idaho’s Heavy Equipment Technician Program. This donation provides CWI students with the ability to learn new technology, new procedures, and new skills through hands-on experience.

The College of Western Idaho is constantly reinvesting in their facilities, staff, students and learning curriculum. This is no more evident than the College of Western Idaho obtaining the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) certification. Agri-Service and CWI are not the only ones investing in the technician labor force. The state of Idaho is too.

The State of Idaho recently implemented the Idaho LAUNCH Program. Idaho LAUNCH is a grant program that provides students a one-time opportunity to have 80% of their tuition and fees at an eligible institution covered, up to a maximum amount of $8,000. This program is aimed to inspire young adults to pursue in-demand careers, such as equipment technicians.

“I am grateful beyond words to Agri-Service for this donation. They are an excellent company that has shown a commitment to improving and supporting the Heavy Equipment Technician Program,” said Diesel Technology Department Chair, George Turner.

“Agri-Service is honored to be able to partner with CWI to support career technical education. Our donation of this Massey Ferguson tractor will help advance training opportunities for future equipment technicians, giving them access to the latest in machine technology. The Agriculture and Heavy Equipment industries need more technicians than are available in the workforce, so we are proud to support CWI’s successful program. Through industry, educational institutions, and government partnerships we prepare these students for rewarding opportunities.” said Kevin Vivian, President of Agri-Service.
