Comments: Monday’s cattle and small animal sale featured a good run of cows and bulls, and a nice selection of yearling and light calves. Slaughter cows were significantly lower despite good buyer participation, with cows on average $10-$12 cents lower. The best of the cows brought up to $133.00, and averaged $120.00-$125.00. Slaughter bulls followed the cows, with the top bulls bringing $150.00, and an average of $125.00-$130.00. Feeder cattle were slightly lower, though heavier weight yearlings held their value. 700-800 weight steers brought $228.00 and averaged $218.00, while same weight heifers brought $210.00 and averaged $193.03. 800-900 weight steers sold for $228.00 at the top, and averaged $201.56. 800-900 weight heifers brought $223.00 on the high, and averaged $218.72. 1000-1100 pound steers sold for $201.00, and averaged $189.84. On the lighter end, 400-500 weight steers sold for up to $260.00, while 500-600 weight steers sold for $242.50 at the top and averaged $223.88. 500-600 weight heifers sold for $237.00, and averaged $211.37.
