Heifers in the same weight class brought $327.50 at the top, with an average price of $305.88. 500-600 weight steers averaged $293.16, and topped out at $320.00. Same weight heifers brought 235.00 at the top, and averaged $223.93. Steers weighing 700-800 brought $237.00 and averaged $232.50. Monday’s Northwest Fall Feeder Classic sale featured 1000 head, with over 850 head of feeder cattle on offer. Slaughter cows were steady at the top, with a considerable drop off on lower yield cows. Cows topped out at $148.50, with an average price of $110.00-$122.50. Slaughter bulls were steady, with a top price of $152.50, and average price of $135.50-$145.00. Feeder cattle on monday were steady to $5-$10 lower off the top end, mainly due to fewer having multiple rounds of shots and smaller drafts, though the market was still robust and demand for good quality light calves and yearlings was strong.
