The second annual Field to Fork Festival will be next month in Boise.

The festival is slated for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 18 at Jack’s Urban Meeting Place, 1000 W. Myrtle St., in downtown Boise.

Local farmers and independent food and beverage businesses are featured at the festival, presented by the nonprofit Food, Agriculture, Restaurants and Establishments Idaho. The organization advocates for independent restaurants, family farms and food and beverage businesses.

The 2023 festival drew more than 650 attendees, said FARE Idaho executive director Katie Baker.

The festival aims to showcase local food producers and products as well as opportunities for industry participants to connect with the public and each other, she said. One goal is to “celebrate, support and grow our local food system.”

Farmers and other food producers, and independently owned restaurants, bars and grocery businesses “benefit from creating relationships to face challenges, strengthen the support of Idaho food and beverage products and grow their businesses in a meaningful way,” Baker said.

A trade fair, panel discussions and chef-led classes are featured. Presentations are planned on innovative water usage in the West, connecting local food producers and buyers, and a new state law on liquor licenses.

Charlie’s Produce is the festival’s title sponsor.

The festival trade show “is quickly becoming an important hub that connects Idaho’s small food producers with our food and beverage industry, creating a stronger and connected local food system,” Matt Fuxan, Charlie’s Produce general manager in Boise, said in a release from FARE Idaho.
