SALEM, Ore., Mar. 14, 2024 — This spring, Stettler Supply Company is introducing the 360 Rain unit to Willamette Valley farmers, a revolutionary autonomous irrigation system that is new to the global market in 2024. Stettler Supply is the first and only supplier to offer these innovative commercial machines in the Willamette Valley and will receive their first three units in April 2024. This groundbreaking new technology can adapt to various field shapes and sizes and ensures even distribution of water, nutrients and more for optimal crop growth.

“When we think about ag innovation, 360 Rain tops the list. Its navigation capabilities, water delivery and technology are unmatched,” says Taylor Meyer, Stettler Supply’s co-owner and president. “We are the only 360 Rain dealers in the valley, but awareness is growing, and as we get them up in our area, I anticipate a large jump in interest in 2025. The 360 Rain unit opens a lot of opportunities for us to increase our support of Willamette Valley farms.”

Unlike traditional irrigation systems, the 360 Rain uses Y-DROP style hoses to deliver water directly to the base of a plant. This reduces water waste by as much as 40%, compared to typical center pivot systems, and provides a more consistent water application to the crop. Additionally, the system’s unique design makes it compatible with fields of irregular shapes and sizes and able to provide 100% field coverage, giving it yet another leg up over traditional irrigation systems.

The Stettler Supply team is preparing for the arrival of three 360 Rain units this spring. Fir Ridge Holstein Farm, located in Scio and Tillamook, will receive two machines for growing silage corn, and Dickman Farms in Silverton ordered the third machine to water their onion crops. Company co-owners Taylor Meyer and Nolan Grimm will be marketing the 360 Rain system to dairy farmers specifically, but anticipate an increased demand will follow as more customers search for efficient irrigation equipment to alleviate operational costs.

“We are especially excited for Oregon dairies, as 360 Rain can very effectively apply in season dairy manure waste to forage crops and row crops,” says Meyer. “We know that being as environmentally friendly as possible when applying dairy manure waste is critical. We anticipate a future where the application of manure through traveling guns is prohibited during certain parts of the season, and the Rain technology and innovation is a great solution for this challenge.”

Members of the Stettler Supply team attended the Oregon Dairy Convention in Salem, Oregon, on March 4-5 in collaboration with producers to promote 360 Rain and other new technology available to Willamette Valley farmers in 2024.
