Hermiston, Ore. — Clients, employees, VIPs, friends and family will gather May 7 to celebrate “Fred Ziari Day” and IRZ’s 40th Anniversary.

IRZ Engineering & Consulting is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and recognizing the vision of its founder, Fred Ziari. A large gathering of dignitaries, IRZ employees, families, alums and invited guests are gathering at Sno Road Winery for the festivities on Tuesday night, May 7.

Hermiston’s Mayor, Dr. David Drotzmann, declared May 7 as, “’Fred Ziari Day” in the City of Hermiston as a recognition of “Fred Ziari and IRZ Consulting’s tremendous positive impact on Hermiston and the surrounding communities.”

It was Fred’s vision and creativity back in 1984 that became the root DNA of the company to come.

Fred graduated in agricultural engineering from Texas A&M and has used that knowledge to develop algorithms and irrigation designs that have saved area growers millions of dollars in energy costs and over 10 billion gallons of water annually.

IRZ Engineering & Consulting has become a global leader in irrigation engineering, water management and energy conservation.

Under his leadership over the last 40 years, IRZ Consulting is recognized worldwide for the implementation of modern irrigation-related technologies. IRZ projects reach outside the United States to over 30 countries.

Over the last 40 years Fred and IRZ have completed more than 2,000 irrigation designs, hundreds of irrigation system improvements, new irrigation project development, and irrigation conservation projects.

Fred Ziari said “with new irrigation technologies and specially with use of AI that we use at IRZ, there will be avalanche of new technologies coming and I believe the next 40 years look even better.”
